Picturen Lite 2011/4/25 update

Hello,

We released a new update for cropping photo. You can download it in AndroidMarket
Now you can choose photo to crop and it will be saved as new file.
You can find this new function in Menu function, like following:

You can also update thumbnail of photo if you realized thumbnail of photo is incorrect.

Our next update will provide password protect for your hidden albums.

2011/04/20 Update

This update fixed a lot of issue.


1. Reduce size of application
2. Fix duplicate album issue (We try to fix it again!)
3. Fix hidden album not be deleted in album list

4. Fix taking photo back to album list occurs error

5. Fix back from photo grid to album list occurs crash

6. Fix wallpaper won't be rotated as photo degree is 180

7. Fix uploader can't see input area when ime showing

8. Support Simplified Chinese

9. Fix camera folder name is incorrect in Eclair

10. Change name of SD card as "Other"

11. UI change

Crop photo and save to file will be published in next release!

Why we need read sms and internet permission

Q1: Why Picturen need permission to read sms?

ANS: Let me explain about this. Here is a use case:

1. You received a MMS message with photo, and you have download it.

2. You can see clear photo in native Gallery of your device. (Sorry, Picturen Lite doesn't support this feature now)

3. You can see your photo in native Gallery.

4. You may want to set this photo as your wallpaper. So you press menu->set as

5. Choose stock wallpaper option as your cropper for wallpaper

6. And you will get an error!!

7. If you back to step 5 and choose cropper of Picturen Lite (the last one)

8. You will get cropper and give you a beautiful wallpaper

That's why we need read sms permission, that's the way to make your MMS photo can be used for your wallpaper or contact icon. 

You may ask: Above demo is about MMS not SMS. 

Yes, but there is no permission called read mms in Android. 

Q2: Why we need internet connection?

ANS: That's because we support uploader let you upload you photos to Picasa web album.

We apologized that there is misunderstand about read sms.

2011/3/30 Update

We have released new update for Picturen Lite.
You can download our application from Android Market

Here are updating instruction:

1. We provide you new single item menu (or you can call it context menu), the new version like this:

You can enable or diable this new UI component in Settings.
(The last option "Use new type single item context menu")

If there is no one report issue or any suggestion about this menu, this setting option will be removed in future released.

2. We apologize that upload service doesn't be closed when there is nothing need to be uploaded. It may waste your battery power. But we have fixed it now!

In old version, you will find out upload service always exists in Android phone settings
(Go Android settings->Application->Running services).

But now you can find it will be closed when there is nothing need to be uploaded! Saving your power~

3. We will provide you new Crop function. You can crop photo and save it as a new image file. And we will update other UI component. Hope you can enjoy our application.

Update on 2011/03/05

This update include following features:

○ Hide albums. (Details about this feature describes below)

○ Fix duplicate album issue

○ More smooth panning, sliding and zooming in full screen viewer

About feature "HIDE ALBUMS"

Android provides a mechanism that exclude directories which have a file named '.nomedia' when scanning memory card. 

This mechanism can not hide albums from other applications. 

We need android new feature called OBB that may provide in future android release. 

Currently, albums you choose to hide still can be found in other application.

But we provide you a new way to organize your hidden albums. 

There is a virtual folder called 'hidden album' contains all the hidden albums and you can expand or collapse it. 

You can close this virtual folder in Settings. 

Hope you can enjoy in our application! 

We'll release new UI component in next update, and next update won't let you wait too long!
